Posted: 18 Dec 2010 12:03 AM PST Let me take you on a fancy journey into the deep thought involved in a sculptural sink design. This is a world where a spaceship floats over a sea of porcelain, bringing you only what the title of the project implies: “The Dream of Water.” Of course this sink is fully functional, and using it will be like a dream to you. Come with me into the poetry that is water delivery, brought to you by no less that designer Jerome Olivet. Here at Yanko Design we definitely do encourage creative sink making, especially when the design is heavily sculptural and/or innovative in its delivery. The delivery of this sink is certainly unique. Take a peek at this poetry included in the product description (from Olivet) and view the magical video presentation below.

Posted: 18 Dec 2010 12:03 AM PST Welcome to a total top-to-bottom re-design of the classic billiard table, designed by a crew of 5 young designers on their way to the top and manufactured by Toulet, one of the sweetest billiard table manufacturers in France or the USA. The innovative shape of this table is instantly recognizable. Where the classic table design was made based on the single surface and four legs concept, this one’s basically a giant ribbon. Then it gets really fun… It’s got a juke box that’ll allow you to connect your iPod or iPhone or other MP3 player, the entire table is made without wood, instead opting for steel and resin, respecting the traditional design only in the bottom in slate. This table can be broken down into sections and delivered across the world, and will be available for sale through Toulet’s sales department in Bondues as well as through national / international retailers and their website at http://www.billard-toulet.com/ buy em up! Designers: Pierre-Marie Cronier, Marc-Antoine Aubert, Jean-Baptiste Deconinck, François Vercoutère, and Thomas Bailly ---------- |
Posted: 18 Dec 2010 12:02 AM PST I once saw an episode of Upright Citizens Brigade, a comedy show of note, where a woman had an interview with an architecture firm that had created a building in the woods – but there was no building. Instead the woods WERE the building, an absurd look at integrating design into natural surroundings. Here’s a set of objects by Robert Bronwasser for Cascano that’s pulled back the lever a bit to deliver nature-inspired objects (for the most part) that’re just the right mix. Devour if you will the entire collection. We’ve got four examples below of stand-up designs that have branches and pegs galore. Notice the excellence herein. Notice also, if you will, the intended purpose of each of the items as evidenced by the professional photographs that depict them. Notice ALSO if you will, the fabulous sources of inspiration contained in the photos as well. Excellence. Designer: Robert Bronwasser for Cascando ---------- |
