Posted: 07 Sep 2010 03:34 AM PDT Moran Ein Dor is passionate about surfaces and effects of stretching; as a result he's crafted this brilliant piece of furniture called Stretch no.3. It's a chair where the stretching poles functions as columns and compliment the surface, which forms the seat. It's currently under production, so an affordable version should be out for those of you who have taken fancy to this scrunchy-clip lookalike! Designer: Moran Ein Dor ---------- |
Posted: 07 Sep 2010 01:06 AM PDT This Power Plug has been designed keeping child-safety in mind. It's got a retractable blue cover that totally covers the metal pins and a button clasp that ensure no accidental pull-outs happen. When it comes to children, you really can't predict how safe is safe…you can't padlock everything and buffer every corner/edge. But small steps like a plug re-design or socket covers are mentally reassuring. Designer: Luofang Jun ---------- |
Posted: 07 Sep 2010 12:08 AM PDT You will be the belle of the ball when you pop this lovely little mamma out on the train ride from Scottland to London town. Such a fancy fellow or lady you shall be with four cups of instant coffee! Inside of this device, the “icoffee”, you’ll find a refillable water tank, four synthesized ceramic cups, rechargeable battery (or adapter) for power, and the ability to create four cups on the go! Go go go and drink drink drink. Four cups for everyone or just for yourself. The ceramic cups are tough, resisting damage or breakage, and are cool to the touch, even filled with delicious icoffee coffee. Drink up! Designers: Gerda Hopfgartner ---------- |
Posted: 07 Sep 2010 12:04 AM PDT You’re in your bathroom, and you’re looking all around. You see all sorts of blah. Especially if you’ve just moved in and that last people who lived there were from the 1980s. You know what I mean? Let’s get to work, let’s get it done gorgeously with Cube&Dot. It’s a matching ceramic, washbasin and bathroom cabinets. One giant system of excellent circles and squares and angle lines. You’ve got the washbasin and some cabinets. You buy those standard (although they’re amazing and totally NOT standard in any way other than the most basic meaning of standard). Then you’ve got the modular ceramic tile system for the walls. There’s the sharp angles of the cubes you might maybe possibly have sort of seen before, (but not this fabulous before of course). Then there’s the dots. They’ll make your wall look like one gigantic news comic page. Fantastic! The most amazing thing I can comment on since I can get my hands on it instantly is this, Cube&Dot online interactive tool where you can design your own wall with the Cube&Dot ceramic mosaic tile collection. Cubes or dots! Designers: Tamer Nakıscı for KALE ---------- |
Posted: 07 Sep 2010 12:04 AM PDT Watch and clockmaster designer Denis Guidone’s made something fabulous right here. Is it a clock? Nope. Is it a watch? No way! It doesn’t tell the time at all, not even a little bit. This is a set of notebooks. But it’s like no set of notebooks you’ve ever seen before. They’re made in a lovely pentagon shape and inside, oh my goodness inside! The lines don’t just go all different directions, they change colors too! It’s a landscape of wonder, and you get to live in it with your pencils and pens and chalk and charcoal and crayons! This is the “Rigolo,” a notebook of some excellent insides and outsides. And here’s an interesting moment in the designer’s description of the project:
If you’re a person who works with the development of children or… you know… happen to be a parent… let me know what you think of these notebooks. Designer: Denis Guidone for Fabriano ---------- |
