Chopper Scooter, I’m Totally Serious

Posted: 22 Jul 2010 08:44 AM PDT

If scooters are too passe for your bad boy, Jesse James lovin’ ego, check out this Chopper Scooter. The motorized mover was designed with linear lines and flowing shapes in mind – anything to hide it’s true identity. Great way to bring up those kids and get them all indoctrinated into the culture.

Sit On This

Posted: 22 Jul 2010 08:40 AM PDT

Designed to be used in apartments and small interiors, Nohoanga (seat in Maori) is designed to be portable. The shape of the seat echoes the organic forms found in nature with its smooth curves and flowing lines. A 100% merino throw lined with cotton is stored in the centre of the seat as well as having an integrated handle allowing users to comfortably carry the seat. All materials are sourced in New Zealand – 100% sustainably manufactured into luxurious, quality products. Too bad the lamb doesn’t come with it.

Umbrella Dryer

Posted: 22 Jul 2010 02:55 AM PDT

Mumbai magically transforms itself into a green city during the three months of monsoons that we get. The magic does come at the cost of careless people with dripping wet umbrellas in malls, shopping arcades and indoor public places. What they don't realize is that slippery wet floors can cause nasty falls. I've been a victim to one such fall, so I really know why we need something like the Swan Umbrella Dryer.

It may not be feasible to install such dryers outside every enclosed place, but select hotels, shops, malls etc can get it and offer the service. I'd prefer this to the disposable plastic covers that I've seen being used abroad, simply because we can do without the additional plastic burden.

How To Glam Up The Loo

Posted: 22 Jul 2010 01:46 AM PDT

Today's lesson is on converting dowdy objects to something luxe by simply changing their looks and casings. Shallow as it may sound, in the toilet world, objects like plunger, scrubs and toilet brushes need a glam avatar so that we don't feel filthy while using them. Keeping this in mind is the Undercover Collection that dolls up the plunger and paper in a sleek steel-finish casing. A casing with a universal design that can accommodate any size of plungers. It sure would look good in my loo, plus I like the idea of camouflaging the unsightly thingies that are essential for a clean looking toilet.

Metal Futurism in Bathroom Taps

Posted: 22 Jul 2010 12:16 AM PDT

Welcome to the future of shiny taps! These lovely taps go by the name “Koolhaus” – that’s German, use your superior translation skills to figure out what it means. These Koolhaus taps are meant to inspire forward-thinking minds to conserve. But they make your eyeballs sparkle, too, yes? Such a fabulously almost-fictional look to these taps.

With Koolhaus, you’re able to see your water consumption instantly, right there on the tap. And not only can you see the water used by that tap, nay! The Koolhaus tap comes with multiple flow rate devices which you can install on other bathroom appliances. Each of these Koolhaus devices then send back information to the main tap, where you can view easily through the tap screen. Taptastic!

New Bike Carrying Culture

Posted: 22 Jul 2010 12:07 AM PDT

Designer Faris ELmasu is about to change the entire world of bike baskets. Up until now, the bike basket has been entirely lame. Made for the littlest kids and those who wish to steal puppies and turn into witches.* Now, all of that is changed. Yes, this is the “Bent Wood Basket.” Made specifically for the neo-hippy aka Hipster culture, this basket is beyond trendy. It’s downright cute and useful.

*Wicked Witch of the West, look it up.

Made with light carmel wood and black nylon straps. Simple and fabulous.

Two Wooden Curves

Posted: 22 Jul 2010 12:03 AM PDT

Here we’ve got two projects, a chair, and a door, both made by “FORMBOTEN.” They might seem disparate, but they’re hella the same. They’re both super excellent. They’re both made to make your life more interesting. They’re both made with molded wood. Not THAT kind of molded, I mean shaped, turned into curves. There’s a door that’s got all your pockets, then there’s a stackable chair that’s got your butt.

The duo that designed these fine products is called FORMBOTEN. One of the designers in this duo’s name is Patrick Decker, whom you might remember from way back in ‘09 in the post “Get a Vague Idea of How Fat You Are.” and in the post nDoo Supplementary Immune Gadget by Patrick Gunther – note the different name, that was before he was married and changed it to Decker! Now for something completely different:

The chair! It’s the “Cut & Paste-Chair.” Weather resistant, made of molded wood, three different color/patterns – the wood, the white, and that amazing mustardly yellow. Outdoor versatility! Plywood with a high-gloss coated seat and backrest, connected by a compound element.

The door! Not just any door, this is “Adore.” Stow away any of your papers or similar such stuff, all the things you need on your way in or out of the door (think newspaper, dog leash, keys, garage door opener.) Both clamps and simple bump-like protrusions, all in a modular system. BONUS BONUS also now, not only is the Adore system a door, it’s also a floor lamp and a sideboard. Love it!

Want! Want oh want!
