Turn Me Upside Down

Posted: 11 May 2010 08:15 AM PDT

Hey now, no matter which way you orient this vase designed by Endrit Hajno, it’ll hold a flower. See, when a man comes over and brings you a dozen roses, this is the perfect vase. But what if he comes over with just one rose. First of all, dump him – that cheap ass. But being the kind person you are, you wait til’ after dinner to do so. For now, you just flip the vase over and display his single rose. Aww, bet that’ll make him feel special.

It’s Zip Up Time

Posted: 11 May 2010 02:05 AM PDT

The Zipper Bracelet Watch is just that, of course there is no watch face; otherwise why would it be here on YD! This concept is a wide leather bracelet where the zips actually display the current time when you hit the central buttons on the wrist. Each zip displays a digit, which you are supposed to combine together to read the time. Sounds confusing right now, but hit the jump to see what I mean. Definitely easier than a Tokyo Flash!

Living In A Material World…

Posted: 11 May 2010 01:00 AM PDT

….and I'm a material girl! So goes the song, but a true reflection of our lives. An era when diamonds are best friends and human relationships are no longer a treasure! Constantly living from one Visa bill to another, no wonder most of us are in the red. One of the ways to curb our spending is to cut back on our credit card usage, but that's next to impossible for some. The next best alternative is to have a credit card that visually mocks us of our low bank balance…. something like the Tricard, perhaps?

Killer Robot Death Watch

Posted: 11 May 2010 12:15 AM PDT

Actually no death. None. Unless you mean the death of terrible wrist watches because this one completely DESTROYS them all! Is that what you mean? Well good! This is the “Robot 1259C Watch” and it’s going to make your arm so much more fantastic looking. Also you’ll be able to read time in such a hardcore manner that your brain might explode out of the top of your robotic head. Beware! It takes a moment to learn, a lifetime to master the awesomeness of ownership!

This Robot 1259C Watch is elite. It’s designed by the terrifyingly fashionable folks at Seahope and when you wear it, your uncoolness will feel the frigid coldness of abandonment. That’s right! You will be colder than a polar bears toenail with this bleeper.

Left for hour, bottom for 10s of minutes, right for 1s of minutes. Trust me it’s easier than you know. Easier than you can imagine!

And just think of all the pirates you’ll be crushing with it.

Available in several colors, wee!

Roll Me The Cabinet, Alice

Posted: 11 May 2010 12:10 AM PDT

That’s what the Mad Hatter’d say, assuming this bit of architectural, sculptural furniture was sitting right inside the story it takes it’s name from: “Alice in Wonderland.” It seems to have the curiouser and curiouser spirit of the story, the white and light fancifulness of the characters, and surely you see the connection between the rabbit hole and the several storage spaces you get on this thang.

Designed by Studio-Ziben, this cabinet/escritoire* features an MDF glossy/varnished oak wood on the outside. And it’s made to be used.

*I had never heard or read this word before this post. That’s just being real with you.

X-Ray Train Vision

Posted: 11 May 2010 12:02 AM PDT

Let me first assure you that there’s absolutely no nudity in this project post. Unless you’ve got real X-ray vision that is. In which case how dare you! With great power comes great responsibility! This is about trains. In a nutshell, it’s called the “Comfort Zone Display” and it shows potential train passengers where and how heavy the population of any given train is. No more squishies!

Not only is there a gigantic strip along the entire landing area for the train as it stops that shows the density of the population of the train, there’s LEDs everywhere! Included in this system of items is a revamp of status screens, unique information for certain trains (like wi-fi capability,) and all-around ease-in-use improvements for everything having to do with train and train-like transport worldwide.

Simplicity!
