Single Gear Wonder

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 01:23 AM PDT

The AO stands out for a simple and stylish bike that handles urban life with ease and comfort. It incorporates a 'single gear' system using a rubber belt for maximum control and maneuverability. Built in safety features like a dynamo to power the front and rear lights is one of its highlights. The saddle and wheel feature a special suspension system to ensure a smooth ride in your city. A new-age approach to bike redesigning!

Running Out Of USB Ports?

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 01:00 AM PDT

One of the limitations on notebooks is the lack of USB ports in proportion to the number of devices we would like to hook up. An easy remedy these days is the USB Hub, but YD won't be YD if we showcased run-of-the-mill solutions! So here's the Infinite USB – an alternative plug on devices that kinda acts like a tag team. The design speaks for itself, so no point elaborating, however what we can do is talk about its effectiveness and limitations. For starters I don't think we may be able to tag too many devices one behind the other. I reckon max 3 or 4 before the tag starts to look awkward, but the color coding on plugs will make it easy to identify which plug belongs to which device.

What do you think?

Helmets for Your Brainskull

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 12:15 AM PDT

How many helmets does it take to protect a brainskull? One. One helmet is going to save your life one day. It’s the difference between a hard skull and a soft one, and I think you know what I’m trying to say. But I know you’re also concerned with fashion. Fashion over death, we live in that world, make no mistake. So even though these helmets aren’t made exclusively to make your head look nice, they’ve got that going for them too!

They’re made for the protection of your head AND the protection of your coolness. What you see below may seem like three different helmets, but they’ve all basically got the same thing going for them. Each of the three is designed smart enough to look great being worn in any number of situations, and with all that flat real-estate up there, you could paint, sticker, etch, anything into the helmet to make it look real nice.

But they didn’t say that, I did. Not sure if etching would void the warrantee, perhaps. But I’d do it anyway.

A Pod for a Baby

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 12:10 AM PDT

I believe Superman would approve. I’m reminded of the pod he was sent to Earth in, from the advanced, sci-fi world of Krypton on over to the violent, unkept world of Earth. That little baby Superman had to be kept safe at all costs, even the amount of money it cost to by a flying baby pod. Well check it out. You don’t need space-bucks to buy into this deal. It’s called the “Baby Cot Pod,” and it’s got handles and smoothness.

It has an organic shape. Podlike. Optional hood, two grab handles, and a retractable carry handle. On the bottom can be attached a removable perforated base, inside is a full padded lining, and all is supported by a folding plastic/wooden trestle frame.

It’s A Portable Talking Box

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 12:10 AM PDT

Designer Bill Gould hates mobile phones but broke down and bought one. Amused at the thought, his coworkers asked for a picture and Mr. Gould came up with the Edi-Mobile concept as a joke. With a background in Industrial Archeology, he designed a phone Edison would have loved. The crank initiates the call and there’s a slide out numeric keypad, but the best bit is the 50 lb lead battery required to operate it. Unlimited text messaging not included.

Globen Up Your Life

Posted: 22 Mar 2010 12:03 AM PDT

Lemme ask you this, do you know what a tureen is? Chances are you’ve got one in your home, beware! It’s a dish with a cover, basically. More like a bowl. And lots and lots of people have it, or something like it. Our pal Apostol Tnokovski saw this particular piece of kitchenware as essential, common, and in sore need of an update. So A.T. decided to turn up the volume, making this dish a globe.

A globe of pure food-holding loveliness. With a cap integrated on a rail mechanism, this tureen opens with ease by sliding. Thus adding to the pure perfection of the form.

I’m gonna need more lights and floating though if we’re gonna ever be able to drive this like a spaceship!

Frizzles.
