Hey Eco-Fashion Fans,
Et tu, Karl? At the Chanel Fall/Winter 2010 presentation at Paris Fashion Week yesterday, Herr Lagerfeld wondered if global warming was just "all nonsense." To prove his point, he had a 265-ton, 128-foot-tall iceberg flown in from Sweden to function as the backdrop of his tweedy knits, faux fur trimming, and shaggy yeti boots.
Other mainstream labels making a better go at green this week: Nike, which is outfitting all its World Cup teams in jerseys made from recycled plastic bottles; British supermarket giant Tesco, which teamed up with From Somewhere to create a diffusion line of upcycled dresses; and Brown Shoe Co., with its launch of an eco-friendly women's footwear line.
