Dear Inhabitants,
It's been an exciting week in sustainable design as just last night President Obama issued his State of the Union Address, pushing for green renovations and clean energy funding while seeking an end to the partisanship that is holding back environmental reform. Several major designers also unveiled greener gadgets this week that stand to make a huge impact upon the consumer market. First Philippe Starck unveiled two fresh new home wind turbines that have us asking whether "designer" turbines will be a new fad. Then Apple upped its game, unveiling a patent for solar powered ipods and debuting the energy efficient and ultra-chic (although questionably green) iPad. We've also received many stellar entries in this year's Greener Gadgets Design Competition, so stay tuned as we announce this year's finalists and be sure to register for the 2010 Greener Gadgets Conference to watch as the winners are unveiled!
