Dear Inhabitants, The past few weeks has been a critical time for emergency design as Haiti struggles to recover from the massive earthquake that has cost its capital thousands of homes and lives. This week we brought you several versatile disaster-proof emergency shelters as well as a plan to use shipping containers as emergency housing. We also covered how Architecture for Humanity is taking a different approach to Haiti by focusing upon carefully planned response, recovery and reconstruction using locally-sourced materials and designs. If you're able to donate anything to help send aid to Haiti please do -- you can even recycle your old cellphones to help!
