Hey Eco-Fashion Followers, Welcome to the very first edition of the Ecouterre newsletter! (In case you don't remember, Ecouterre is the new website dedicated to innovative, environmentally-friendly apparel design - and you signed up with us some time in the past 3 months :). We'll be bringing you the latest eco fashion news, along with exclusive invites to fashion events, and great freebies, sales and product giveaways every single week - so stay with us if you want to keep up with the latest news and maybe win some free stuff in the process!
THE WEEK IN NEWS This week, the blogosphere and Twitterverse caught fire with shocking news that a Manhattan H&M store and a Wal-Mart contractor were destroying unsold clothing that could have been donated to charity, instead. (Extremely ironic in light of H&M's upcoming sustainable spring line.)
We also checked out some hot wearable tech from CES 2010, found an artist who makes blingtastic jewelry from used Macbook keys, and asked designer Natalie Chanin if craftsmanship still matters in this age of fast, mass-produced fashion.
