Posted: 12 Aug 2010 01:52 AM PDT The Spout Faucet Basin is ideal for those freakish about hygiene and no-touching-taps kinds. It's also for those who enjoy aesthetic appeal with a little bit of high-tech. Basically the design features a sensor activated mixer tap, with the temperature being set via a small dial. Unfortunately, this dial will require you to "touch" it for adjustment, but more importantly it also encases the override button, which pours out a steady stream of water. All the mechanical components are neatly tucked outta sight in the internal cavity behind the basin, offering a very neat wall mounted unit. Adhering to the current demands, this swanky basin can be crafted out of cast ceramic as shown through to machined Corian. The fact that it's one less metallic mixer tap to clean and polish in the loo makes it all the more appealing! The Spout Faucet is a Reece Bathroom Innovation Awards Finalists. Posted: 12 Aug 2010 01:00 AM PDT The literal explanation for the "Change", multiple ports hub is quite weird so I'm going to stick with my inferences of the product. The hub is basically a station where you can hook up all your computer peripherals and media gadgets and from it a single wire goes into the CPU. Right at this moment I'm glancing down to where my CPU is, and the mess of wires going into it really looks icky! So will something like this "Change" hub make a difference? Maybe, or maybe I just need some tacking wires to straighten things up. Better still opt for wireless devices! Designer: Lou Fengkai ---------- |
Posted: 12 Aug 2010 12:14 AM PDT When it comes to architecture, I feel very much drawn to two things – subtlety, and dominance. The building you’re about to look at is certainly at least one of those. See if you can guess which one. Designed by parisian architect’s office Studio Bellecourt, this fantastic vision is made up of a white concrete veil and 25 MILES of aluminum sun shades. This building sits in the andromede urban development sonze near Toulouse in France. It’s got a “forever” sort of look to it, wouldn’t you agree? Also I bet it’d take a long time to clean if it got mud on it. A brilliant monument. Designer: Studio Bellecour ---------- |
Posted: 12 Aug 2010 12:12 AM PDT This project right here is known as the EAGD aka “Electronic Ambulance Guidelines Device. It’s an electronic information tablet made by designer Matteo Trisolini for JRCALC (Joint Royal Collage Ambulance Liaisons Committee) and the NHS Ambulance trust to replace the current paper handbooks being used today. Made to be understandable by paramedics and ambulance technicians of all ages (between 18 and 65) so that even the “aging” UK population can take part. Environmentally constructed, simply and ergonomically shaped. Made to be lightweight, well balanced, durable, and certainly portable. Color coding and iconography, aka infographics, work to simplify the process without eliminating any of the information that would have been provided by the book this device will replace. Initial tests show the EAGD to reduce the amount of time needed to search for clinical guidelines by 60 percent. Medical speed! Designer: Matteo Trisolini ---------- |
Posted: 12 Aug 2010 12:02 AM PDT The first thing I said when I saw the images of this concept was “brilliant.” I am not kidding you, scout’s honor. This is truly brilliant. This is “Ring Hanger” by Sooyon Park, and it’s one of those things that someone sits there writing down everything they can think of about hangers and comes to. They come to it, they write it down again, and they say “hey, this might just work!” And they try it, and it does. And it’s ringtastic. It’s rings! It’s just rings on poles. Each ring sits in place and holds another hanger in place. What a total moment of genius! Each of these rings is made of silicon while the rest is made of wood. Designer: Sooyon Park ---------- |
